Karthik Balaji is a Frontend Engineer at Microsoft with a passion for UI/UX design and development. With almost 8 years of experience in building scalable web and mobile applications, Karthik has worked with early-stage startups, MNCs, and as a freelancer/contractor. He is also involved in interviews, code reviews, and mentoring junior developers, helping them understand the code base and planning for better structuring of the code with a primary focus on timelines, scalability, and ease of understandability. Karthik has also led the development of the component library (Sapiens) to build Auzmor's next suite of products. He has architected the mono-repo setup with lerna to manage versioning, release, and publishing packages to the NPM registry. In the past, Karthik has worked as a Senior Software Engineer I - Front End at ally.io, where he added real-time features such as chats, notifications, and file sharing to existing web and mobile apps using Node.js+Socket.IO technologies. He has also worked as a Software Engineer - Front End at auzmor, where he was involved in direct client interaction for requirement analysis and estimates, designing architecture for new requirements, and getting reviewed with senior tech architects for approval. Karthik was responsible for the base code and project setup, creating the build process, deployment, and sending notifications to SIT testers. He also mentored junior developers and reviewed their code before checking into TFS. Karthik worked on Agile Scrum methodology for software development and was frequently involved in providing KT to team members on the latest technology.
